The Lloydminster Men’s Shelter has been a cornerstone of the community since 2008, dedicated to providing emergency housing and support services to homeless men aged 18 and older. We offer more than just a place to stay—providing clean, safe, and temporary lodging for adult males in need, along with the support services to help them rebuild their lives.

Meal Serving
Thanks to the support of our volunteers and the generosity of the community, we are able to serve meals to the adult men staying at our facility. While we currently focus on providing meals to our clients, we work closely with other programs in Lloydminster to ensure that women and children in need also receive the support and resources they require.

The Gibney House
The Gibney House is a low-income home allowing men starting out with new positions of employment to get back on their feet. The residents pay a greatly reduced rent payment until they are ready to rent a place of their own.
Our Policies
Caseworker Support
Every client is required to work with an assigned caseworker throughout their stay. The caseworker will assist in developing a personalized plan focused on housing, employment, and recovery. Active participation with the caseworker is mandatory to access ongoing services. If a client does not engage with their caseworker, their stay will be limited to 21 days. This policy ensures that clients receive the support needed for stability and long-term success.
Behavioral Expectations
All clients are expected to behave respectfully toward shelter staff, fellow residents, and the facility. Disruptive or violent behavior, as well as any form of harassment, will not be tolerated. Such behavior may lead to immediate discharge from the shelter.
Substance-Free Environment
The shelter operates as a substance-free environment. Clients are prohibited from consuming or possessing alcohol and illegal substances while staying at the shelter. If a client is found in violation of this policy, they will be discharged from the shelter.
Privacy and Confidentiality
The Lloydminster Men’s Shelter is committed to maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of all clients. Personal information is collected and stored in accordance with privacy laws and will only be shared with authorized parties necessary for the provision of services. Clients can expect that their personal details will be protected throughout their stay.
Food and Service Access
Meals, shelter, and other services are provided exclusively to clients staying in the facility. We provide over 1,200 meals per month to residents. Access to meals, safe showers, and laundry services is available to clients during their stay in the shelter.
Transitional Housing (Gibney House)
Gibney House provides a transitional housing option for individuals ready to move beyond emergency shelter. Residents are required to pay reduced rent while working towards financial independence and stable living. To maintain housing at Gibney House, clients must demonstrate progress toward self-sufficiency and adhere to the facility’s guidelines.
